Work at Takiwasi

Takiwasi’s team is complete, but the Center is willing to consider adding new members from different nationalities according to its needs.

As general criteria will be given preference to candidates who:

• Have previous experience working in the field of drug addiction and/or can offer psychotherapy tools and knowledge (workshops, group dynamics, sports and recreation etc.).
• Have been collaborating with Takiwasi in the past in an internship, or as volunteers or researchers.
• Can commit for a minimum of 2 years and are willing to eventually settle in Tarapoto in the long term.
• Speak Spanish fluently (and eventually English, French, Portuguese and German).
• Demonstrate a favorable disposition towards traditional medicines and an openness to ancestral therapeutic practices and are willing to follow the process of self-experimentation which is essential to the therapeutic protocol with Amazonian medicinal plants and the corresponding follow-up.
• Have family stability and good knowledge of the cultural conditions of Peru.
